We would like to refurbish and redecorate our toilets so users have a more enjoyable time while using the centre.
About this cause
Waltham Abbey Community Association serves all of the people of Waltham Abbey from very young children to the elderly. We bring together individuals, families and voluntary organisations. We provide a venue for many activities including a day centre for the elderly, a preschool, tea dance, bingo club, dance classes, Irish dancing, square dancing, classes for babies and toddlers, gardening club, ladies groups, zumba, yoga, football training for youngsters, scalextrics, slimming clubs as well as parties, weddings, christenings and wakes. Over 500 people use the Centre each week. We keep our hire charges as low as possible so everyone can take advantage of our facilities. We hope what we provide enables local people to have a wide range of activities to choose from to enhance their lives.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We do not receive any funding, either government or local, and are reliant on income from hall hire and any grants we can secure to maintain our facilities. We are the only Community Centre or organisation in Waltham Abbey that provides so many different activities for so many people and we feel we make a vital contribution to the lives of people who live here.
