Petherton Arts Trust – The David Hall Arts Centre

We want to increase community engagement at TDH by offering subsidised tickets for three professional theatre companies in autumn 2018.
About this cause
Petherton Arts Trust is a registered charity based in rural South Petherton, Somerset. The volunteer Board of Trustees organises The David Hall Arts Centre with help from over 120 volunteers. The volunteers are vital to the daily activities and live events. TDH hosts music, film and community events/workshops plus some theatre and dance. The building enables opportunities for volunteers to contribute to a working arts venue. As well as a community resource for events e.g. coffee mornings, TDH provides employment for 3 part time members of staff. The overall aim of the venue is to provide arts and entertainment for the audience of Somerset.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will develop a culture for watching and engaging in theatre activities. TDH can build community interaction and engagement (volunteering & audience development), to diversify artistic programming and support local theatre companies while providing an affordable experience for those in the community who are on a low income.
