We would like to employ two part-time youth workers to help young people at our centre for two evenings per week over a 12 month period.
About this cause
Halewood Youth In Community Centre is a registered charitable voluntary sector community organisation that has existed in different forms for a period in excess of 50 years to operate and open its doors to children, young people and local community adults who live and reside within the Halewood area of Knowsley, Merseyside leading to an improvement in the quality of their respective lives. The Centre currently delivers local community; out of school club, holiday playscheme provision, evening youth work sessions, twice-weekly community evening clubbercise classes and bingo sessions and four evening time boxing/fitness sessions. This is in addition to specific training workshop opportunities for local volunteer adults, large community Parties, Sports Days, and Showcase Events.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Project will assist in counteracting the negative influences and effects that young people, 12-19 years, face on a daily basis due to the impoverished nature of the area in which they live through the ethos of empowerment, informal education, participation, inclusion, diversity and equality ensuring a solid platform that assists their positive community input as constructive society members.
