About this cause

We are a stand alone Women's Refuge on Wirral offering a place of safety for women and their children escaping domestic violence. Our 12 bed unit is manned 24/7 by fully qualified staff and includes an Ofsted registered play facility. Additional professional help is available for issues such as substance misuse/mental health/child protection. We offer safety, support, respect and professional help, there is no time limit on a stay and we operate a 'Survivors' coffee morning to ex-residents, our door is always open. We wish to install a therapeutic/sensory/play garden to encourage gardening, play, interaction and peace to our damaged lives, for which we seek funding hopefully to include play equipment. We receive no funding for our many children.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We hope that our garden will provide a space for our women to learn to grow plants and vegetables, to interact with fellow residents, to relax and find some peace and healing in their lives. For our children, we hope a safe environment will encourage them to enjoy the play area with imagination and freedom.
