Money will buy Moses Baskets, new mattresses and baby toiletries to help vulnerable ladies provide for their newborn babies.
About this cause
To help vulnerable pregnant ladies, their babies and professional agencies in Bury & BL9 6LL. Collecting surplus baby items through a number of donation points. These items are then packed into Moses Baskets containing a new mattress, toiletries for babies and mums as well as blankets, sleep suits, nappies and other essentials for a newborn baby. Referrals from Midwives, Health visitors and social services are sent to us and the starter pack prepares for the professional to give to the mother along with information on safe sleep and community resources such as toddler groups or other services that may be of benefit to them. The baskets are packed with love, care and attention so that the mother feels valued and that this item is a gift not “a handout”.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Every baby deserves a good start. Health professionals can access our service to support vulnerable mums, empowering and equipping them to have the resources to care for their babies- in turn increasing self worth and mood. The community can recycle their baby items no longer required for another mum to use. The community can volunteer at Baby Basics to sort & prepare Moses Basket Starter Packs.
