About this cause

Plymouth Tree Partnership supports local residents and community groups who want to improve their neighbourhoods by planting and tending trees, and we work with others to agree and deliver projects. We do this through a network of volunteer tree wardens who give their time and experience to improve local environments. One major project is the Family Tree Scheme which occupies a four-acre field in Plymouth's Central Park. From its beginning in 2004, the aim has been to create a beautiful woodland landscape where people can reflect and seek inspiration. This aim is being steadily achieved as new trees and features are added. In addition to its practical work, Plymouth Tree Partnership organises a programme of educational talks and visits about trees.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The Family Tree Field will be enhanced as a place where people can come to reflect and seek inspiration.
