We want to hire a mini bus to take clients to a local nature walk and provide lunch to many of our clients who don't drive.
About this cause
The Serenity Community Cafe operates for the local community in offering Peer Support for people who are experiencing Mental Health problems. The cafe opens every Wednesday from 1.00 pm - 3.00 pm and serves teas, coffees and cakes, some homemade. We also have a supervised craft table where people can learn new things and express themselves through crafts. We are there to listen and offer support and empathy, to help with confidence and self esteem and help them in their recovery. Our aim is to offer a safe environment of which people feel comfortable and not judged.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will raise awareness for Mental Health and that it is nothing to be ashamed about. It will help integrate people into Society and so help their mental health. There is very little support in our community for people experiencing mental health problems and to offer a trip out like this would boost clients self esteem and build confidence and make them less socially isolated.
