About this cause

Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is a charity funded air ambulance service who is ready to save the lives of local people in Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and parts of Wiltshire. From emergency caesareans to roadside amputations or treating cardiac arrests, it is the skill and dedication of our team plus our amazing equipment, which means we continue to save lives every day of the year. We need to raise £2.6million a year to stay operational, but despite this we receive no day to day funding from the Government or National Lottery.

How this cause brings people in the community together

We help save local lives. When every second counts, we can bring the skills from the emergency room to where it's needed with our on board critical care Doctors and paramedics and equipment. With both our helicopter and two critical care cars we are one of the busiest services in the country and the busiest service in the South West.
