We would like to install a much-needed heating and air-conditioning system for the comfort of our visitors and volunteers.
About this cause
Bostall Library Community Group manages and runs Bostall and Bexley Village libraries for the benefit of their respective residents, many elderly. We provide the loan of books, use of computers and endeavour to provide as many of the council services normally found at a council run library for our patrons. The libraries are community hubs each with a coffee shop, children's activities on a regular basis such as toddler time and many additional activities for all ages during school holidays. Adult activities include coffee mornings, reading clubs, knitting, Pilates and many more. Our objectives are to provide a warm and welcoming environments for all ages and gender and to provide them with as many inclusive activities and facilities as far as our fund raising allows.
How this cause brings people in the community together
It will enhance the library environment for both young and old making it a warm place to visit in the winter months and a cool place in the summer. Rather than just popping in and leaving if the temperature is uncomfortable , they will be able to stay and enjoy the activities and facilities on offer for longer periods of time, thus enabling them to be more involved in their community hub.
