We plan to make Christmas a special occasion for young people by taking them out for a meal and buying them a present.
About this cause
Beneath His Wings is a Christian based charity which helps young adults aged 18 -25 who have been caught up in criminal justice system, have addictions, and mental health difficulties by giving them support to have a fresh start in life. We provide a family home where they have the opportunity, help and support to begin to restore their lives, get help and gain necessary life skills, and support into training, education and work so that they can become contributing members of their communities. We also support other young people in hostels or their own accommodation and provide support transitioning them into their own homes.
How this cause brings people in the community together
I think especially at Christmas time, it shows the young people that people in their community care about them, which is good especially at a time when they can feel lonely and uncared for. This helps them feel part of something bigger and then encourages them to take ownership of their community and contribute back to them as well.
