About this cause
As part of the largest service organisation in the world we help where help is needed in our own communities and around the world. In the Harrogate area we:- * donate funds to the various organisations supporting vulnerable persons, homeless, lonely. *support youth groups such as the armed forces cadets, youth bands, schools. *with several projects empower young people such as those who are acting as carers within the family. *provide hampers for the needy at Christmas *deliver newspapers at weekends at Harrogate hospital. We are all volunteers striving to meet humanitarian needs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
For best chance of survival patients suffering a cardiac arrest require fast access to a defibrillator. The Lions program of providing public access defibrillators is aimed at providing this support and is intended to provide access 24 hour a day 7 days a week to as many in the community as possible.
