We're raising funds for much needed PE equipment to help our village school improve its existing outdoor educational resources.
About this cause
FoSELS (Friends of Slip End Village School) is a registered charity formed by parents and local people with the purpose of raising funds in support of our small village school. Through the organisation of fun events and activities such as discos, a circus and summer fayres, the group has been able to raise money to give pupils access to resources and provision that may otherwise have been impossible. Recently the group has helped the school purchase electronic learning aids, new audio equipment, indoor PE equipment and subsidised school trips. Working closely with the school, FoSELS are able to run annual events loved by parents and children alike, and also foster close associations between the school and the local community, shown recently with our successful participation in Village Day.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Children at Slip End can expect to learn in a safe, happy environment, becoming independent and resilient learners well equipped to succeed in the near community and further afield. The new outdoor equipment will augment the quality of physical education, benefiting many children for years to come whilst enhancing the reputation and standing of the school and thus the community as a whole.
