Waltham Abbey Woodcraft Folk
Young People
We want to pay for children to learn new skills through training and craft.
About this cause
Every week, volunteers and young people meet up in the Waltham Abbey Community Centre and we learn about big ideas through fun activities like camping, crafts and debating. Our aim is to have fun, but also to try to develop children's self-confidence and build their awareness of society around them. Through our activities, outings and camping, we help our members to understand important issues like the environment, world debt and global conflict. Developing activities focused on sustainable development. And to encourage children to think, hoping that they will build a peaceful, fairer world
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will help our local community by attending local events where our older children can show their new skills and promote our group and The Woodcraft Folk. Their new skill will also help them to organise a programme for the children for when we have our summer camps and for weekends away in the colder weather.
