We want to plan and stage a significant arts in the community event to promote our groups and activities.
About this cause
Pavilions Teignmouth is submitting this application on behalf of Teignmouth Together - a collaboration of Arts, Heritage and Community Organisations. Teignmouth enjoys a vibrant arts and culture environment. However many arts and community groups are run by volunteers operating with shoestring budgets and resources which limits ambition and impact. Teignmouth Together is a ‘joined-up’ approach for our arts and community organisations – a conversation that actively looks for ways to work together, developing collaborations and partnerships and supporting each other to grow and promote activities. Our objectives are to establish a cultural 'brand identity'; to attract new audiences and participation; and to extend our reach to communities not presently involved with arts and culture.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The benefits of arts and culture can be huge - creative activity has long been known to have tangible effects on health and wellbeing and quality of life for participants and audiences alike. More activities and events and better promotion will increase community involvement and support sustainability of community groups, and visitors coming into town will benefit local business and prosperity.
