We are in need of three new horses and ponies to complement our existing team which would be purchased as required over the coming year.
About this cause
We provide riding lessons and therapy for individuals of all ages and all levels of disability. We operate from a purpose built riding centre is Washington seven days per week throughout the year. The benefits of riding activities are recognised as a highly effective therapy, which contributes to the improvement of a wide range of medical conditions, provides a positive and unique form of therapy, brings new dimensions to restricted lives and encourages independence. Using horse riding as an activity, we can integrate disabled and non disabled people in a positive environment, we help them to get 'up close' to the horses and be involved with their care, we encourage volunteering and offer training programmes to achieve nationally recognised qualifications.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our riding school is recognised as a benefit within the community, daily we work with disabled and disadvantaged clients who value the Centre and what we do. This project will provide additional horses to benefit our riders. As requested by clients, one would be a larger horse for riders who have a little extra weight, who agree they would find the exercise involved in riding especially beneficial
