Making Memories
Social Inclusion
We want to buy iPads to run classes for people suffering from dementia and memory loss.
About this cause
The IT Centre in Castle Douglas was established late in 1996 as a result of an initiative by the Council and the management committee of the town’s Community Centre. The Centre and its services are open to individuals, community organisations and businesses and aims to enhance workplace and related skills; increase levels of employability; encourage progress on to further learning; minimise the digital divide; and, reduce rural isolation and marginalisation.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The classes will reduce isolation, improve confidence, teach new skills amongst those attending, bringing people together and provide respite for those caring for the people attending.
