We want to run an informal play group for families with children that have been born before or after a loss.
About this cause
A Child Of Mine provides bereavement support to anyone that has been affected by the death of a child of any age or circumstance. Our beneficiaries are primarily from Staffordshire but we provide emotional support, guidance and signposting via phone, email to anyone nationwide or in person if the live in the West midlands. We also provide financial support to families from Staffordshire. We run various support groups. These include: groups for young people affected by the death of a sibling or parent; a playgroup for parents with other children to meet and talk and a star cafe - a drop in coffee morning for anyone grieving the death of a child. Last year we directly supported over 150 families and demand for our services is increasing.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This project will help to support local people trying to cope with the death of a child. It reduce isolation and help them meet other families who have been through a similar journey, increasing their health and wellbeing.
