We have an ongoing programme to enhance the facilities of our hall which is developing as a hub of the community for scouts and adult users.
About this cause
The Scout group, which has a significant number of girl members, is at the centre of the local community and attracts members from nearby villages. It provides the opportunity to develop a range of practical skills, including pioneering and cooking and organises a wide range of camps at all levels from 7-14. Every year a number of members continue to work with the Group as junior leaders and others join the linked Explorer Group which caters for those from 14-16.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will be a vital part of the process of making our Hall an even more effective centre for community activities not just for our children but also for the increasing number of adult groups who use the facility. The Hall is used for over 70% of the time between 9.00 am and 9pm Monday to Friday and we are keen to develop weekend use.
