About this cause

Wye Village Hall and Recreation Ground Charity is responsible for the two Halls that serve the village of Wye and its nearly 2000 inhabitants. The Halls are used by the very young (Wye Under-Fives) and the less young (the WI, the Whist Group, Short Mat Bowls etc.). The Hall is home to a an infant's school, arts groups, sports clubs, a gardening society and includes representative groups from virtually every facet of village life. We have recently replaced the roof of the main hall and are improving the storage facilities and terrace at the back. We plan to start work on the front of the large Hall next year and we hope to expand and improve the toilet facilities and to make them more mother and child friendly. This will broaden the appeal of the Hall to a range of potential users.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Th new toilet configuration will make the Hall more attractive for users of all ages and genders. But the increased family facilities will be of great value both to the large number of children's groups who already use the Hall but will also make it a more attractive venue for all villagers looking for a venue for weddings, anniversary celebrations or adult or children's parties.
