About this cause

Our aim is to save lives across Scotland, lives which otherwise might have been lost because it’s not always possible for emergency treatment to be administered quickly enough. In an ideal world, ambulance response times would always be lightning fast, but this is not always achievable, especially in more rural or remote areas where location, number of ambulances and demand come into play. As a family who has experienced tragedy personally, improving rapid response medical care in rural areas has been our mission for 15 years. We do this by providing medical professionals with Sandpiper Bags which contain all the equipment required in an emergency. Our volunteers respond to hundreds of call outs every year, administrating fast medical treatment and saving lives.

How this cause brings people in the community together

For every minute without the right emergency treatment, the survival chances of a cardiac arrest patient fall by 10 per cent. Sandpiper Wildcat aims to save more lives by training and equipping locally based cardiac responders across Aberdeenshire. Linked to the emergency services, volunteers will be primed to deliver swift, on-the-spot CPR and defibrillator shock ahead of the arrival of an ambulance.
