We would like to take approximately 150 disadvantaged children to visit a major theme park for the day.
About this cause
The Sandown and Shanklin Lions, are a Service Organization, committed to helping people in need in our local community.We raise funds to help fund projects for local causes as well as giving physical help. We arrange for disabled and disadvantage children to be able to go to the Pantomime, or other suitable theatre shows.Also to take them to enjoy time at theme parks, so helping the parents for a day. One thing they do like is visiting Paultons Park near Southampton, but a day there with a coach full of underprivileged children as well as disabled children can cost up to £2000. We also help with many other causes for local people of all ages and needs. But it would be nice to be able to take a large number of children to a theme and entertainment park again for the day.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This project gives underprivileged ,disadvantaged and disabled children, a chance to go somewhere they might not normally be able to go.By using Lions Club members and some carers, it gives the parents a break. Taking just a few of these children to a Pantomime at the local theatre, shows how much good it does.So to take a large number to a major theme park for the day, would be really good.
