Longniddry Brownies
Young People
We want to continue to offer a range of exciting and fun experiences to our girls without cost being an issue for families.
About this cause
As members of Girlguiding Scotland we run a brownie unit in Longniddry Primary school. This allows girls from the local area to come along primarily on a Wednesday evening to take part in a variety of activities but also to attend camps for either 1 night or 2. Girlguiding allows girls to gain a range of skills while being given a wide range of opportunities while having fun at the same time. We always aim to keep costs as low as possible in order that all girls can access the unit irrespective of their family's financial situation.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project allows every girl aged 7 - 10 in the local to access brownies when in some cases this may not be possible and it will allow us to offer a range of activities instead of being constrained due to a lack of funds.
