We want to build an outdoor classroom so our children can benefit from outdoor learning.
About this cause
We raise money to support the children at our school in their learning. It is a small rural school with less than 160 pupils from reception to year 5. Our objective is to raise as much money as we can to enable the school to fund equipment, events and basic supplies that the school budget does not cover anymore. Our target for 2017/18 is to buy a yurt to be used as an outdoor classroom to go in our small conservation area enabling the children to benefit from outdoor learning whatever the weather. We want to give the children daily contact with the natural world, the weather and the seasons. We want to help them to understand and respect nature, the environment and the interdependence of humans, animals, plants, and life-cycles.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This is a small village school that takes children from the surrounding villages. We intend the yurt to support the development of our children's respect for nature for many years to come which will benefit the communities they live in as a result.
