About this cause
Ribble Valley Crossroads Care is the leading provider of practical and emotional support for Carers (unpaid) living in the Ribble Valley. Our service is about improving the lives of Carers by giving them time to themselves, allowing them peace of mind when having a break from care. We are unique in providing care for the person with care needs and also respite for the Carer. As part of this, our Care Support Workers deliver high-quality personal care with compassion, dignity, and respect to the individual needing care support. This can enable the person to continue living safely at home, speed up hospital discharge and reduce bed blocking. Our overall aim is to increase the amount of high-quality respite we provide for Carers to enable more Carers to take a much-needed rest.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The community benefits from the social inclusion and participation of all members of the community. The parents/unpaid Carers of young people are known to see an improvement in their family well-being. This has a positive impact on the wider family and friends. The respite time enables Carers to continue caring well. The young people grow in confidence, social skills and feel valued.
