West Kilbride Community Association
Young People
Funds will cover the costs of tutor fees for a programme of skills workshops in the community centre.
About this cause
West Kilbride Community Association runs the community centre which is a key organisation in the village, the centre is host to our successful Adult Education programme, the community gym, and the pre-school nursery which are evidence of our crucial role in the community. The aim of the community association/centre is to be the beating heart of the community, the place where people can come if they wish to learn a new skill, make friends, receive advice, have a good time. This application focuses on developing our points of contact with younger people.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This application will contribute to a programme of workshops and activities through which young people can acquire skills in design, fabrication, and installation of artwork in public spaces. The key benefits of the programme will be: 1. that young people can acquire transferable skills 2. that they are empowered to give expression to their views on the future 3. the village will look better.
