About this cause
The 79th Glasgow Company, Boys' Brigade works with Boys from all back grounds and ethnic groups. The aim of the BB is to help prepare Boys for later life, promoting teamwork, self discipline, leadership, and self-respect. We cater for Boys from 5 - 17 years, and follow a programme of badge work covering, community, skills, & recreation. The ultimate aim for Boys is to achieve their Queen's Badge around the age of 16/17. As well as the badge work system, we have outings and parties, and run outdoor weekends & a one week summer camp. At present we have around 100 Boys in the 79th Glasgow Company. All staff undergo Boys' Brigade training, and are PVG checked.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our project will help encourage boys to join or remain in the Boys' Brigade. The B.B. encourages Boys to respect their community, and to give something to the community. Membership of the 79th Glasgow, gives Boys a sense of belonging, and their commitment to the Company, and the example that they are given, hopefully makes them better members of the community.
