We want to tidy the garden and car park area to provide a pleasant space for both young and old to use for outdoor recreational purposes.
About this cause
The Community Hall provides activities for all age groups each day of the week. The elderly to encourage less isolation and to enable socialisation which provides support so they can stay in their own home and community. Our youth organisations which include scouting and guiding, provide support for children aged 5 to 16. We run activities for an Open Door project which provides a free breakfast and company for anyone who needs it. There are also various other groups that use the premises which enables the community to come together. The organisation provides a safe environment for all these different groups to meet by providing a pleasant space, light and heating. Our objective is to provide a pleasant outdoor space that can be used by all user groups and the community.
How this cause brings people in the community together
At the moment this area is unsightly and dangerous to people passing, as the overgrown hedges are spiky and full of nettles. The work will brighten up the area adding colour and making it a pleasant place to encourage the community and user groups to use it. By clearing the car park area we are enlarging that space to allow for a larger concreted area to be used for outdoor activities.
