Paul's Place
Sport
We fundraise to buy kit, adapted equipment, expenses and transport for our Boccia team so they can enter national competitions.
About this cause
Paul's Place provides a day facility for adults with physically, sensory and cognitive impairment who have individual support plans enabling them to achieve goals and aspirations such as sports, drama, music, archery, crafts cooking etc. We also take members and carers on respite breaks several times a year offering full support so carers' can recharge their batteries confident their loved ones are in a safe supportive environment. We are fortunate to have a qualified social worker to provide full support for carers'. She facilitates a monthly surgery so carers' can meet and have access to advice and information. We have an evening programme so members can access community venues with support from staff who supports them with all their needs.
How this cause brings people in the community together
By enhancing the lives of Paul's Place members and carers'. Members will have greater self confidence and self esteem due to opportunities participating in a National sport. We challenge some people’s perception of people with disabilities, and breakdown barriers that sometimes exist for disabled adults. Members will feel they have made a huge contribution to this particular national sport.
