We need funds to help renovate Beacon Hill golf kiosk into an environmental education centre focusing on the local downs and marine areas.
About this cause
Creation of an educational centre specialising in conservation, maintenance and protection issues of the local environment including the neighbouring Beacon Hill Local Nature Reserve and the Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone. Utilising an indoor & outdoor classroom providing workshops and interactive displays supporting and promoting biodiversity conservation, wildlife habitat protection, archaeology, heritage and the arts. To date educational events have focused on local young people such as schools and scout groups with interactive seminars more focused on adults. Beacon Hub Brighton's goals includes renovating the Beacon Hill former golf kiosk into more functional class/event rooms and to use the building as a local environmental hub.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We want children and adults alike to feel part of the National Park and Conservation area where they live. Through education we can help people contribute to their environment, learn about the fauna a flora which we share our lives with, help people to take part in conservation, improve sustainability within our community and be involved with the beautiful landscape in which we live.
