About this cause

Lewis-Manning Hospice cares for patients with life-limiting conditions from diagnosis to end of life. We are the only local non-NHS hospice in East Dorset providing a safe and caring place to die and a place for families to face death together. We care for local people whose lives have been turned upside-down by a life-changing diagnosis. We do this through our three core services: End of Life Care (In Patient Unit), Day Hospice and our specialist out-patient clinics. Last year, more than 900 patients received 5,711 hours of care across all our services. In addition to the patients themselves, last year we supported more than 1,800 family and close friends of patients at the hospice. ‘The care that Lewis-Manning provides has turned my life around.' How this cause brings people in the community together

We take care of local patients who have been diagnosed with life-limiting conditions. As well as having to deal with the physical symptoms a life-limiting disease can bring, people frequently experience isolation, depression, fear and anxiety. We take a holistic approach to care and believe art therapy in Day Hospice is crucial to patient treatment and well-being.
