We would spend the money on making our club house and green fully accessible and safe for disabled people.
About this cause
Our club is not only for "older people" but we tutor school pupils during term time and holidays to try to encourage young people to take up bowling. When we have visiting teams for matches we give them a meal which is cooked and served by Lady members ( Male members DO help with the dishes )! We also have Social Members and regularly have events to get everyone together but we only have limited access for the disabled. I am a Committee Member and joint Kitchen Convener. Our objectives for the club are to make it a place where everyone,male,female,young, old and disabled can join in.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our local community is an ageing one and as a result more and more people are needing help and support to continue participating in sport and to be able to join in Social events. If our Club could provide that then it would help everyone.
