We would like to buy event shelters providing shelter at outdoor events and pop up notice boards to enhance our public profile.
About this cause
Therapy Dogs Nationwide benefits a wide community; including schools; prisons; hospices; hospitals; nursing homes; workplaces. We provide temperament assessed dogs with their owners into any establishment that requests us. We aim for calmness, stress relief, memories and confidence. We have been operative for 20 months and are expanding rapidly. We are volunteers running TDN for volunteers
How this cause brings people in the community together
We aim to attend more outdoor events next year building on our success to date. The greater footfall we have at larger events the more volunteers we can recruit. Thus we can expand our presence in the community. We witness dementia patients relax and interact; prisoners express feelings; reluctant readers blossom; patients in hospitals and hospices talk over their fears.
