We want to design and build a Book Garden, combining a quiet area for reading with a fruit and vegetable garden that the pupils will manage.
About this cause
The Friends Association is the PTA for Lady Joanna Thornhill School. We raise funds to directly benefit the school's pupils via school and community events such as the Summer Fair.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The school is the heart of the community and this project will not only benefit the school's pupils and their families, but bring locally grown produce to the wider community. We would also welcome volunteers from the local community to advise and help with the project and its development. It has the potential to bridge the generational gap and educate children about where their food comes from.
