About this cause

St. Francis' Children's Society is a children’s charity and an independent adoption agency especially committed to finding families for children who wait longest in the care system. These children are typically siblings, are aged four years or older, have disabilities or special needs, or are from minority backgrounds. Adoption today is about finding families for children of a range of ages. Most will have had troubled early years and may have been neglected or physically, emotionally or sexually abused. We find adoptive parents who can offer a family life where they are loved, protected and encouraged to achieve their full potential. We offer life-long support to these children and their adoptive families and are here whenever they need us.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Our events are designed to support a child’s physical and emotional development. They boost confidence and support their motor skills, lateral thinking and social skills, which may not developed in their early years as in most children. These events have a social benefit as the children will form healthy relationships, enabling them to reach their potential throughout childhood and into adulthood.
