Equi-Power Central Scotland RDA
Education & Skills
We want to buy equipment for a new horse: this will allow us to increase the services and opportunities we provide.
About this cause
We provide disabled and disadvantaged adults and children with equestrian sporting, therapeutic and learning opportunities. We provide horse riding lessons for disabled adults & teenagers, equestrian vaulting for disabled children (aged 5 – 12 years), and equine assisted learning for disadvantaged teenagers. We also provide volunteering opportunities for people 12 years and over. Volunteering opportunities are also made available to those with additional support needs with the aim of building employability skills and maintaining an active health lifestyle, they can also work towards qualifications. Those who participate in riding and equestrian vaulting will have opportunities to take part in displays and sporting events. We are currently working to get our own centre in Stirling.
How this cause brings people in the community together
An additional horse and equipment will allow us to increase the services we provide to the community. Riding and vaulting opportunities will provide physical activity, participants can even aim towards taking part in events. These sessions along with the supported volunteering opportunities we will provide increase self esteem, confidence and communication skills.
