We are expanding our work in the community with new training facilities and space for additional activities on our Living Well programme.
About this cause
Isabel Hospice is a local charity covering eastern Hertfordshire including Welwyn Hatfield and Broxbourne boroughs and East Herts District. We offer a range of services that support adults living with serious long-term or life-limiting conditions. All the care we offer is free, supporting people to live as well as possible throughout their illness, making the most of every day, doing the things they want to do. At the end, we enable people to die with dignity in the place of their choice, including their own home, care home or at our In-Patient Unit, knowing that their families and loved ones will be supported at the time of death and into bereavement.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Living Well with Isabel supports people who have a serious illness, not just cancer, that limits what they do and their enjoyment of life. People attending our Living Well sessions have said they feel they have got their life back. The community also benefits from training which includes GPs and other healthcare professionals. They see many patients, not just people connected with Isabel Hospice.
