About this cause
SandALLS Is the PTA for Sandhurst Primary School, Catford London, and our main aim is to raise funds to support the school and all its pupils. Currently our main objective is to look at ways to increase our fundraising potential to support the areas of school life and experience most at risk from funding cuts. SandALLS current focus for the coming year will be supporting the development of the new whole school library. Currently the school has one library focused on junior children, years 3-6. The school has identified a new bigger space that will be converted into a library for all the school to use, from the youngest children in the nursery up to oldest in year 6. SandALLS is looking for funding to expand the book stock to appeal to the wider age range of the library's users.
How this cause brings people in the community together
We want to have books from our youngest to oldest students, Reading literacy is a prerequisite for successful participation in most areas of adult life. Sandhurst is a large local school, children predominantly come from the local area. Improving the library will directly impact on the local community through them, but to engage the widest number we need appealing books.
