2nd/5th Welling Guides
Young People
We want to be able to take the guides on more camps and outdoor activities as well as continue to run the unit successfully.
About this cause
In Guides, girls aged 10-14 get out there and do something really different. Guides are given the opportunities to go on adventures, try new things and get more involved in their community. Guides are able to get involved in the planning and implementation of the meeting activities and adventures that the unit takes part in. This, in turn, inspires the guides to be more confident, outspoken about issues that they really care about and find ways that they can help solve them. There is a varied set of badges and awards that will help the Guides to learn new skills and try new challenges that the Guides can choose from. Guides are able to do these both independently or in groups so that they learn how to work as teams and express themselves more effectively.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The Guides get involved in their local community in various ways such as helping to fundraise for other organisations that the girls are passionate about, helping out at community events and helping to better the local community. We want to be able to thank and reward the Guides for all their hard work that they have put into this year.
