About this cause

Burntisland Heritage Trust was set up in 1998 to conserve and promote the rich heritage within the historic burgh of Burntisland. The Trust comprises entirely of volunteers and works closely with other groups in the town, especially the local school, to encourage active participation in both the natural and built heritage. The Trust produces books, leaflets and articles as well as conducting free guided walks around the town, culminating in a summer exhibition displaying a different aspect of heritage each year to which the local children have an active input. The Trust reaches out not just to the local population but to the many thousands of visitors who come to enjoy our beautiful town.

How this cause brings people in the community together

Although of no significant monetary value, the paintings have great local interest in capturing the town in the Victorian/ Edwardian era. It is hoped that by making the paintings readily available to both locals and the many visitors to the town it will foster interest both in the town and in the work of this important local artist.
