About this cause
We are part of Citizens Advice and help anyone and everyone who may need help or advice in the Canterbury district. We are a volunteer-led organisation and advise people on a huge range of issues. Many of our clients are vulnerable and/or on low income. We provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination. Our organisation's mission: - To provide the advice people need for the problems they face. To improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. Canterbury District Citizens Advice operate an outreach service from the Library in Whitstable. In 2016 we helped 116 clients with issues such as debt, relationship and benefit.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Many Whitstable public & voluntary services have closed, so vital to keep our services accessible. Community get advice on housing, debt, relationships etc. Clients will receive an efficient service with better case recording and benefit from tools that assist in behavioural change. Give clients and their families increased confidence, encouragement and help in dealing with their problems.
