About this cause
The St. Johnstone Community Trust was established as a SCIO in 2016, having converted to an independent organisation with charitable status from the Community Department of St. Johnstone Football Club. The Trust vision is to become a thriving, sustainable, community focused organisation, providing life enhancing experiences. We use sport and football in particular, to help people throughout Perth & Kinross achieve their goals. A wide range of projects provide opportunities under 5 themes: Playing, Teaching, Wellbeing, Inclusion and Learning. The people reached by the work of the Trust range from preschool age children, across children and young people, to adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues and up to elderly people with dementia.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will enhance the lives of the participants, reducing levels of stress and depression, addressing social isolation as well as having an impact on alcohol and substance misuse. Positive outcomes will be felt across entire communities, with involvement in the activities making a real difference to people’s lives at a cost that equates to a fraction of traditional support services.
