About this cause

Our Wildlife Area provides the ideal place for kinesthetic learning & helps us support our aim to improve our student’s understanding/appreciation of biodiversity, giving them opportunities to come up with new ways of protecting & enhancing their natural world. It is multi-functional & used during school time, after school & at weekends. Children also learn about wildlife and conservation, it also supports Forest School activities in our Eco Club & once a month for our Wildlife Action Mornings, these are very popular & take place on Saturday mornings, where family, friends & members of the local community are invited to work together with the children to learn more about endangered species, biodiversity, build living shelters from willow, grow plants & toast marshmallows on the fire.

How this cause brings people in the community together

The Wildlife Area encourages families to learn together in a relaxing. fun and welcoming environment strengthening the bond between the children, their families, the local community and the school. Information learnt during lessons, clubs and at our Wildlife Action Mornings can be used outside of school on community projects, such as volunteer conservation work at Ham Hill & Yeovil Country Park.
