We want to extend our events for unpaid carers to give members more variety in their lives and attract more new members to the organisation.
About this cause
Fun4all is aimed at providing a series of leisure breaks and fun activities for unpaid 24/7 Carers and those cared for, which include many different forms of 'impairment', in order to give both the benefit of a break from their normal routine. We offer a series of events on a monthly basis that they can attend and find friendship, laughter, and goodwill from people in a similar situation and this provides a welcome change from their daily caring routine. We use our funds to subsidise these events to make them affordable and currently they are charged out at £3 per person, sometimes more if the activity relates to an excursion. Fun4All is not-for-profit, we have no premises and no paid officials. Extra funds will enable us offer more elaborate excursions and activities for all.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Our testimonials show that our aims are being met, as so many Carers stated how much they enjoy it, how they felt included rather than excluded, and they returned home more able to face up to their full-time caring responsibilities. In the future many more people will become unpaid Carers at home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we want to help them cope with their new responsibility .
