About this cause

Redbourn Scout Group (RSG) provides exciting and challenging opportunities and experiences for approximately 150 young people in Redbourn aged between 6 and 14 years of age. RSG now has 6 sections: 2 Beaver colonies, 2 Cub packs and 2 Scout troops. Each section runs different programmes of events each term where the young people work towards various badge attainments. They are challenged to try new activities like camping, rock climbing, kayaking etc but there is also a very strong focus on community and helping others. By adults working in partnership with children in this way Scouting is able to actively engage and support them with their personal development, build self-confidence, a sense of responsibility and encourage the young people to make a positive contribution to society.

How this cause brings people in the community together

More equipment will lead to better & more adventurous & frequent camping. More children will have the opportunity to go on camp, get active, have fun outdoors, work as a team, learn important practical, life & survival skills & become more resourceful, whilst building self-confidence & independence. Experiences like this encourage children to make a positive contribution to Society as adults.
