Stewartry Council of Voluntary Service
Health
We want to supply local people with cards, key rings and fridge magnets that contain QR Codes with their medical information.
About this cause
Stewartry Council of Voluntary Service (Stewartry CVS) is a Charitable Independent Membership Organisation and our mission is to advise, support and provide services to communities, voluntary groups, charities and individuals which improves their quality of life”. It is a community resource and its aim is to develop new ways of responding to need in partnership with other agencies concerned with the social, economic regeneration and safety of the area. We also carry out projects that will be of benefit to the local communities such as working with local schools and football clubs to highlight issues around bullying and social media and distributing defibrilators across the Stewartry and training volunteers to use them.
How this cause brings people in the community together
The project will benefit people of all ages. The scheme is designed to allow individuals or families to have key medical information available for first responders should they become unconscious, incoherent or involved in an accident. Having this information readily to hand will increase the opporyunity for the indivdual to be treated appropriately thus increasing community safety in the area.
