About this cause
Gingerbread East End Out of School Care is a local charity in the Dennistoun area which provides quality affordable childcare for primary school age children to lone parent and two parent families, in order for them to pursue/maintain further education or employment. We collect children daily from Golfhill, Alexandra Parade and St Denis's primary schools. We have places for out of school care all year round and during school holidays we can also support the wider community by providing holiday care only placements which supports working families and local respite groups. The children benefit from the biological approach, learning naturally through play in a child centred environment enables each child to explore and discover their world through play at their own rate.
How this cause brings people in the community together
This project will continue to ensure Gingerbread East End Out of School Care remains a central part of the Dennistoun community, assisting families to improve their lives by creating an environment which provides exciting fun for everyone allowing children to acquire the skills they need to succeed now and become effective contributors within their communities.
