About this cause
We are an amateur boxing club based in Shotts and have been around since 1976, we promote Amateur boxing to Men / Women & Boy's/ Girls in the Shotts area,. Due to the high unemployment area we do not charge annual membership fees and we keep our admission costs to a minimum i.e. £1.50 / £2.00. Our objectives are to teach our members discipline own and give them something to do in an area which offers very little else. In recent years in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow we had four members representing Scotland in the national team, this was a first for any club to have so many in the team,this year we produced the first amateur world champion ever for Scotland, first Scot crowned a world champion ever. In the middle of this we have both men / Boy's & Women & Girls representing Scotland
How this cause brings people in the community together
We continue to offer support the local community by providing the opportunity to those who wish to improve their standing, learn them discipline and provide them with an affordable hobby. We have been very successful with Scottish, British and world champions and we offer this opportunity to those who wish it, or at least give them the opportunity to try
