We're raising funds to renovate Bristol Children's Hospital's Emergency Department to support sick children across the region.
About this cause
Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal is the only charity fundraising exclusively for Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Special Care Baby Unit. Our vision is to enrich and enhance quality of life for children and families in hospital through the provisions of life-saving medical equipment, family facilities and a range of arts, music and play therapies. The Grand Appeal is separate from the NHS and will only ever fund items and facilities that are above and beyond the NHS remit and statutory funding, in order to provide the most advanced treatment and care to sick children and babies. Bristol Children's Hospital is one of the UK's leading children's hospitals, providing lifesaving treatment and care to over 100,000 babies and children across the whole of the South West every year.
How this cause brings people in the community together
With 40,000 sick babies and children treated in this emergency department each year and as the major trauma centre for the region, it is likely that everyone in the community will know of someone who has used this vital service. The expansion will provide more space for staff and patients and offer a more welcoming environment for babies, children and their families who need to use the service.
