We want to purchase specialist medical equipment for use within the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
About this cause
The League raises funds to purchase specialist equipment and amenities for the benefit of patients in or attending the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. A wide range of people benefit from babies to the elderly with a variety of disabilities or special needs. The catchment area for the hospital covers NE Wales, encompassing Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham. As the hospital is the Centre of Excellence for a number of specialities, patients can be referred from further afield and our charity has been instrumental in providing vital equipment for these areas. Our objective is to be able to continue to raise funds to provide equipment which, due to financial restrictions, would not otherwise be available.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Medical Equipment is expensive and as technology moves on there are items that, although costly, help the hospital treat illnesses that, in the past, would not have been possible. By providing this specialist equipment it aids earlier diagnosis, provides up-to-date treatment that improves quality of life and saves patients' lives.
