We want to put in place interventions to support children with their communication and language skills to better prepare them for school.
About this cause
Bellinge Community Pre-School is situated in a deprived area and is managed by a committee. It provides early education for two-, three- and four-year-old children. It also supports a number of children who speak English as an additional language and children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Upon assessing the children in our care it has come to light that communication and language are the areas which need most attention. We are in the process of supporting parents through guidance, workshops and monitoring to enable their children to make the right progress, so as to narrow the gap which Government and Ofsted are insistent upon. Only with the right interventions relevant to those children’s lives will their chances of success be enhanced.
How this cause brings people in the community together
A well organised and well presented early years’ environment, complimented by supporting caring staff, will enhance the pedagogical educational levels of the provision, and provide a model of good practice which can then be replicated in the child’s home. This better equips parents/carers in becoming proud, in control, direct teachers and enablers in their children's education.
